Odissi Mudras are one of the most striking parts of Odissi dance. The mudras convey meaning behind the Abhinaya and add comlpexity to the Pallavis. There are both single and two handed mudras. These pictures depict several single hand mudras.

The dancer demonstrating these mudras is the renowned Odissi dancer Janhabi Behera from Bhubaneswar, Orissa, India. Photography by John Merrell.
