Currently I do not ask for deposits. This may change in the future but for now payment on the day of the event or day of the photoshoot is standard.

How Should I Prepare for a Dance Photoshoot?

The biggest item I will stress is make sure to come prepared and on time. If we spend more time shooting we will all be happy campers.

  1. Create a Look Book - Pinterest is a good app for this. Work with your teacher to cover items in your repertoire and any additional shots you would like. You can also share your Pinterest Board with me. My pinterest account is Mardala Media Pinterest
  2. Make sure to run through all your poses prior to the dance shoot.
  3. Double check all jewelry and costume items prior to arriving. Make sure everything is together, costumes fit, and seams are not coming apart. Organization and preparedness is key to having a smooth photoshoot.
  4. Arrive on time. I know this sounds obvious but studio time is a fixed time frame and I need to emphasize how important it is to arrive on time.
  5. Make up - For the photoshoot - a more natural skin tone is ideal. Any variation in colors (yellow, red, white) will be exagerated in the photoshoot due to the intensity and closeness of the lights. The skin base should not be too extreme.

How Should I Prepare for the Arangetram?

I have a lot of experience with Arangetrams and Rangapraveshes. Enough to understand the nuances and timing of these events. We can have a conversation prior to your performance date to go thru any details you want to make sure we're covered.

Do make sure I get the phone and email of both parents and if there is a main contact person, get me their info as well. As soon as you know the event venue send me the address and times you plan on being there.

Where to get Prints?
